metropolitan area is looking for a Financial Reporting Manager
oversee complex financial reporting processes, supervise a team of
professionals, and drive the development and implementation of
accounting systems to meet organizational needs. As a leading

services to a diverse population. Key Responsibilities for the
Financial Reporting Manager Oversee the preparation and issuance of
comprehensive financial statements and reports Supervise a small
team of professional and technical staff, planning and assigning
work to ensure accurate financial data recording and reporting.
Monitor and analyze revenues, expenditures, fund balances for
complex funds to ensure compliance. Design, develop, and implement
accounting systems, procedures, and forms to meet management and
regulatory requirements. The Financial Reporting Manager reconciles
accounts, resolves discrepancies, and prepares financial and
statistical reports. Provide technical guidance and training to
other departments on fiscal matters, reporting requirements, and
accounting policies. Act as a liaison with external auditors,
coordinating audit requests and implementing audit recommendations.
Review and approve monthly tax reporting ensuring accuracy and
compliance. Conduct research and provide management with insights
to evaluate the organization's financial position and compliance
obligations. Qualifications for the Financial Reporting Manager
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a closely related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification required or must be
obtained within one year of hire; Certified Management Accountant
(CMA) preferred. 4 years of progressively responsible experience in
accounting, financial reporting, or auditing, with at least 3 years
in a governmental entity and 2 years in a supervisory role.
Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
(GAAP) Strong understanding of automated accounting systems and
proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel. Proven
ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and
develop solutions to fiscal challenges. Excellent leadership and
communication skills, with the ability to foster effective working
relationships with team members, city officials, and external
stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple priorities, perform
detailed work accurately, and maintain complex financial records.
